LONG BOXES – 12 colours Saturday 5th March, 2.30 – 5pm Sheila Ravnkilde is showing LONG BOXES – 12 colours, and BOXES – 24 colours at Harrington Mill Studios. The LONG BOXES activate the long wall. The viewer’s perception is constantly changing as they walk past the work, the eye invited to pause and focus on the qualities of both the individual boxes, and the whole wall. BOXES – 24 colours draws the eye on entering the exhibition space. This wall offers a constantly changing experience of the work and the relationships between the boxes, as the eye scans the wall. The boxes in both pieces of work are built up with layers of acrylic paint and glazes. The work is installed to work with the exhibiting space, heightening the viewer’s experience of the space. |
