Art-Athina brings together significant Greek and foreign art galleries, cultural institutions, curators, collectors, art critics and art lovers. Over 35,000 people visited the Fair in 2014.

Platforms promotes various artists’ groups, collectives, platforms and independent art spaces of a non-commercial (non-profit) orientation operating in unconventional ways, in Greece as well as abroad to establish unexpected debates on art.

Saturday October 24th from 2pm - 6pm
Sunday October 25th from 11am - 4pm

Anna Eyjolfsdottir who lives and works in Reykjavik will be making new work for the HMS gallery space.

The artist often works with large installations, where she honours especially the spatial characteristics of the venue she works inside. Her works are often laden with sensitive images from social memory.

Everyday occurrences are reflected in her art and ready-made objects find new roles in her works.

"With love from Iceland" will be exhibited during the HMS Open Studios weekend when visitors will be able to meet the artist.

Some Other Place
IMAGE: Courtesy C A Wright Performance by Chris Wright & Louise Garland during HMS Open Studios

Some Other Place is a performance that looks at the female position where vital roles are often carried out away from the public eye including the role of peacemaker. The work explores the way that women often have a very physical knowledge of domestic space, the hidden landscape of the home environment. The continuous monotony of the tasks are often relieved by an element of escape and it is here that the crevices of the mind become a fantasy space
