The
winner of The Attenborough Prize 2008 Sarah Key presents a
new body of work in Walter’s Attic.
Sarah Key’s new work is centered on images of animals
often taken from examples of taxidermy that are transformed
by imagined anthropomorphic narratives. The work is often
dark, filmic and absurdist in its representation of animals
‘as human’.
The Attenborough Prize is an annual £2,000 prize awarded
to the best contemporary visual artist featuring in the Open
exhibition at The City Gallery. In addition to the £2,000
prize, The City Gallery hosts an exhibition in the Upstairs
Gallery for the winning artist.
